I'm trying to upgrade my daily commuter bike (~5 mile round trip commute). My current bike is very comfortable but slow, old and from a big box brand. I want something thats better quality. 500 is kinda super out of my budget but I can pay in installments.

There’s only one size available at this price so I would check if it fits. Otherwise the fx3 with disc is a great commuter bike at a great price.
It’s used or new and full warranty? It’s not worth going into debt for a bike though regardless. These same bikes 10 years old will be a lot cheaper and if it is looked after will last a long time too
if S is your size yes it is. But S is very small.
But dont buy anything you cant afford. If your current bike is working fine just keeping using that.
Depends on the issues with your bike. If some new tyres would improve the speed then that’d probably get you 90% of the way there. Don’t know if you have a track pump with a guage but having the right tyre pressure can make a big difference no matter what your bike is.
For a 5 mile round trip any clunker should be fine. Don’t know why you’d want to be interested in a bike you can’t afford.
