11spd GRX 1x/1by 40/11-42t, 170mm cranks, Stages power meter, alloy wheels, 48mm Tufo Thundero tires, H31420/80 ergocockpit, Tacx Radar side load cages, Lauf bottle opener, S15 seatpost, Silca barbag, Silca bartape, Silca saddlebag, Profile Design storage bottle. I bought some Topeak bags for it, but there's not a lot of clearance on the small frame – I keep an eye out for bags people are using if I eventually start doing bike packing or long distance rides where there's no food.
Alviso, California. It's a low-stress gravel ride. Totally flat, cooled by the bay, and nice scenery. It's also Instagram famous for having pink salt/water. I'll probably want a lower gear as soon as I start doing more mountainous routes. Maybe I'll do a XT derailleur cage swap. Overall it's a great bike – super comfy on trails. Maybe after a year of riding I'll put carbon wheels on it.
I bought the frame and parts used. My local bike shop (Upshift Cycles) assembled it and they are a Canyon service center – I need to ask if that gets them access to bits/parts/accessories that aren't publicly available on the US website. I got lucky finding all the components quick+cheap. It cost less than a buying new and I was able to get the correct sized parts for me to fit on the bike well 👍.
The hardest part about owning a Canyon is the effort to make it not look like every other Canyon that's the same model 😂
