‘In deep reflection in the bath tub, ‘smart bubble’ fart-thoughts, sometimes rise and hover, and lead to an epiphany of understanding’.
Splash splish… As ash falls, and smoke haze fills our weird little central Oregon smoke hole for the zillionth time, I realized something I didn’t really appreciate until I bought my Tern S-11 cargo E-bike ‘car’ a couple of years ago. (I’m car free). Climbing a steep hill on an analog bike, loaded with groceries, in thick wildfire smoke while breathing heavily, is really stupid. Did it for years. By turning an E-bike to turbo on the hills, it would allow use of a half face respirator without panting or suffocating. I should have bought an E-bike years ago, but I resisted because I didn’t want to get lazy, and wanted E-bike designs to mature first. 😂 Note to self: Buy a respirator. Apparently all the smoke exposure has made me a little…slow.

You’re 100% right. Also once you factor in energy from food an e-bike can be equivalently low carbon as an acoustic bike
By this logic, it’s unhealthy to live where you do. Not sure what bikes have to do with it.
Olympic level mental gymnastics lol
Terns are great. They are leaders in the car-replacement-ebike market.
Honestly, if it’s to the point that being outside is overtly dangerous to my well being I’d just drive my car that has a cabin air filter.
What’s an “analog bike”?
skill issue, also most people dont live in the middle of forest fires, wtf what biome are you on?
