Large guy who hasn't rode in decades but looking to try again. 5"10" and probably mostly just pedalling around the neighborhood. Possibly going on a gravel path or two. Cheap, but figure the Huffy and Walmart bikes are ones to avoid, so looking at used brands that were good. Would this be good, or should I look elsewhere?

Depends on the size of it. You have the right idea but this is a really old bike, looks like it’s in good shape. Definitely better than Walmart bike, but also may be a pain to tune up.
Like if it’s not shifting correctly and needs all set up, if the tires are dry rotted, if the brake pads need replaced, all those things add up quick when updating a bike. But it’s not impossible and sounds ok for what you want to use it for.
Maybe offer 100 and see
A decent bike in its day. Just be sure it doesn’t need a lot of maintenance and repair to get it rolling. Air up the tires (if they’ll hold air), run it through the gears, and make sure the brakes work.
