Along with the Garmin Varia radar, this is the best cycling accessory I have recently purchased. I use it to top off my tires before going for a ride. Simply preset the tire pressure on the display, press it on to the valve and hit the power button to start the air flow. It can also replace CO2 tubes and mini hand pump if you want to take it on the road. I got mine from Amazon for $100.

Love mine too. I just use a track pump at home, but on the side of the road this thing is a big improvement.

  2. I don’t get it, how does this improve on the hand pump? Apart from a precise PSI, I suppose.

Got one on Ali on sale a few months ago and it’s literally like.. indoor plumbing-level revolutionary for me. Given most of the time I’m just topping up tubeless tires before a ride I barely touch my floor pump anymore. Weighs less than my hand pump + digital pressure gauge too

I have the AS2 Pro, if the Ultra had come out when I bought I would’ve probably got the Ultra as I never used it more than 2x a ride and the ultra could do 3 tires.

  5. It is, but the adapter for hard resin valves is finicky and it definitely is slower when using it than not.

Just buying an e-gravel bike with an AXS drivetrain, my feeling on this is… not another thing to charge!?!

So I guess my question is, is this something you have to use constantly and recharge, or can you charge it up and stick it in your saddle bag for emergencies? I’d be concerned that it wouldn’t hold a charge long term, which is a problem what CO2 cartridges don’t have.

My normal process is before every ride to top up my tires with my track pump (for which I have a lovely Japanese Hirame pump head), and carry CO2 and a mini-pump for emergencies. 99.9% of the time CO2 does the job, but one time I used up 2 cartridges on a bad inner tube, so now I carry a mini-pump as backup.

Comparison to a Varia is interesting, because the only people who think Varias aren’t worth it are people who don’t own one. Is this thing really the same?

  7. I got a different mini electric pump but I have the same conclusion about it being a noisy little joy. It’s so convenient to just shove it on your valve and press the button!

with my luck it won’t be fully charged when I’m on the side of the road needing it most :/
