  1. The front sprocket is likely not centered with the correct spacer or the sprocket is bent.

It could also be a bent rear axle causing a wobble on the cassette driver

  2. Is your sprocket crooked or bent? Maybe something isn’t lined up from when you switched your cranks. Chain should be too short if you only changed your cranks. Did you change the sprocket too?

Did you change the bottom bracket and the sprocket? Most likely you have a top hat washer issue. A lot of front sprockets have a bore for 24 or 22 mm and a lot of spindles, often lower end spindles, are 19 mm. If you don’t have the right washer and place the sprout will be off center and the chain will be tight on one side and loose on the other.

I did change the sprocket as well, should I change only the crankset and leave the same sprockets? 🤔

Check the top hat washer, its either not in position correctly, or is the incorrect one for that axle.

  6. this is common and numerous factor can apply:

    – new chain
    – not fully round sprocket or little bent
    – sprocket adapter not fully set
    – driver used

24mm spindles can help reducing the possibilities as it removes the need of a spacer.
