The bright red cylindrical object you saw is called a Post Box or Pillar Box where you would post stamped letters for collection and delivery by a Postman or a Postal worker There is something similar in the US but these are usually coloured blue (and may feature an eagle's head representing the US Mail Service) and are slightly less attractive angular affairs called Mail Boxes and their contents are collected by a Mail Man (sometimes they are referred to by a more politically correct name of "Mail Carrier"
I love Bath for the history!! Omg you can see the Roman baths! It’s very cool. I also really loved York (when I was there the food was really good and I had the best coffee ever!). York just screams British history. (Of course Brighton is cool and so freaking British! They have pebbles instead of sand and beach chairs. And the southwest sea towns are really cool). All the British accents are so different. I never made it to Manchester but that’s on my bucket list (as is Edinburgh).
The Isle of Wight is lovely too. The UK is full of beautiful places. I love Scotland and Wales both beautiful countries and so is England. When I came back from Egypt, on a Nile cruise, with its fascinating history, I was hit by how green England is, even in November!
You should go to Newcastle or York next, the north of England is quite different from the south, more in common with Scotland since it used to be a part of Northumbria
You don't know what a postbox is? You put letters you want to send in it and the postman will collect all the mail in it and take it to the post office for you. Saves you having to go to the post office. They have them all over the country.
I LOVE Portsmouth and Southsea, it's my home and it's MY city (mine, you can't have it) It's a wonderful city, the history, the food, the nightlife, the view and the history. On the Solent, it's a world sailing Mecca. With its rich immigrant cultures its restaurant scene is fantastic and because it's not a wealthy city the food is still affordable. The fish is great. The shopping has faded like everywhere but the restaurant scene has gone strength to strength, try the Ethiopian, Venezuelan, Portuguese and Iranian restaurants (go to the Shirin and have lamb shish, koubideh and rice and sauce immediately) The people are wonderful, it's like a giant village, everybody is friendly. Victorious Festival is lit. A warm june weekend, light until 11, bars, cocktails, pubs and barbecues on the common. HMS Warrior is an absolute must see, I could wander her decks forever. And if you live here or holiday here, learn to sail at the Portsmouth Watersports centre. Good times and happy days.
Pompey v So'ton NOT a very big derby. A kinda fierce rivalry, maybe. The big derbies are Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool, N London, Newcastle / Sunderland, Birmingham, S Wales and, of course, Stafford Rangers vs Stalybridge Celtic.
U need to go to the sea side or the isle of white near Portsmouth u can go on the hover craft or a ferry I’m going on a ferry on Sunday this week to isle of white so

London, I'm afraid, isn't an English city.
It's a globalist aberration, devoid of anything native and filled overwhelmingly with visitors, foreigners, and the super rich.
I’m from Portsmouth! Try going to gunwarf or commercial road at Christmas and you won’t be saying that people are slow or polite
I lived in Portsmouth for 9 yrs,,,best yrs of my life
‘It’s proper British init’! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Was that a short postbox, or are you 12 feet tall?
I think this is the most anyone has talked about Portsmouth without using the word 'shithole'
Stop playing and come to Cardiff 👀
You've gotta get down to Devon, man. Exeter, Plymouth, the North Coast… Dartmoor, you gotta go to Dartmoor and see the ponies.

Squad heavy with 3 people? Cus of the camera in a supermarket? If its that yeah they can get pretty aggressive over a camera just like in America.
Shame you didn't go on to HMS Victory, and learn about Nelson who was possibly the greatest of British heroes in our history.
North Yorkshire is very English
