Hey everyone,
I just ordered this BRN Bernardi raw fixie frame + fork . It’s my first time building up a bike from a raw frame, and I was wondering if anyone here has experience with this specific frame or similar ones.
- Any advice on prepping/finishing a raw frame before building (painting, treating against rust, etc.)?
- Things to watch out for when building a fixed gear from scratch?
- Recommended components or upgrades that pair well with this kind of frame. I already have 700c wheels ready to go and a stem too but rest needs to be bought. Im going for a kinda cheap budget on this one.
This is the info provided to this frame
Kit frames + fork fixed 50 raw
Steer tube 1 " threaded
Bottom bracket BSA 68mm (English thread)
Seatpost suitable to 1'' (25,4 mm)
Size 50
Basically, I’d love to hear from anyone who has built a bike from a raw steel frame – what worked well, what mistakes to avoid, and any general wisdom.
Thanks in advance!

That is super cheap frame! Crazy that even tyres alone can easily cost more than that!
sand the frame with 1000 grit sand paper and then put spray clearcoat.Paint the fork black and then your build will look clean
Jesus Christ this sub is so pathetic. Raw or painted this frame is absolute garbage. Return it and invest in something of even moderate quality or buy used. You can be broke and still find a used track bike for a decent price. Stop supporting these bullshit companies.
Don’t cut your fork pipe straight away
I had that exact frame for a bit, you will need to get the bottom bracket as well as headtube reamed/faced, else no bb and headset will fit right.
