Need to see if I can get a couple volume spacers for it but it feels surprisingly good, plenty of rebound adjustment and like having a 3 position climb switch, just wish I could adjust compression but it’s only a click or two less than where I’d have it anyway.

That shock is no joke. SR Suntour high end stuff is top notch. At one point I had the Tri-Air (1) and a Auron on my bike and they were my favorite suspensions setup I ever had. If I built a bike from the ground up, I’d go SR Suntour again in a heart beat.
They didn’t win Gold medals in back to back Olympic XC and be sent down cliffs at Rampage for no reason.
Enjoy!
What shock did this replace that you’re comparing this too?
I remember a Pinkbike article a few years back where they did a group test on a bunch of budget FS bikes and I remember one of their takeaways from the whole group was that you really don’t notice as much difference between the budget shocks and a higher end shock as you do between a budget fork and a higher end fork.
I’m not at all doubting you, but what other suspension have you ridden?
I feel like the lack of compression adjustment for a lot of riders is an immediate dealbreaker. For $200 tho I’m sure it can’t be beaten!
The premium suntour stuff is super solid and underrated. I think the problem is most people know suntour for their cheap components that come stock on super entry level bikes. But their high end suspension is comparable to the big 2.
