I'm new, this is only my 2nd practice session.
I know the bags are lame. I just don't like backpacks and hip packs etc. they are empty for this demonstration. I own a helmet, I just forgot it. I will wear it next time. It's an entry-level bike, it's the only bike I have. I don't know how to manual, I'm watching videos to try to learn that next. And I will go outside and practice those here in a minute. But how horrible is this so far?
How bad is this attempt at a bunny hop

We all start somewhere. Keep practicing and it’ll get better
Well figuring out “how bad it is” depends on your skill level. But as I can see you’re beginning at MTB, so it’s pretty decent. We all start somewhere. Keep practicing
Edit: please do wear gear especially a helmet.
probably where i’m at after almost 16 years. Looks like you could probably create more lift up front first before the next step. maybe
Good if you wore a helmet
Exact same as the post on the other subreddit, my man. You’re pulling the bike up with your feet. This isn’t and won’t ever be a bunny hop.
Stop trying to lift the back wheel until you can successfully get the front wheel high enough that you can unweight and push the handle bars forward to get the wheel off the ground.
Both wheels came off the ground and at different times, so pretty solid.
You’re rushing it, especially getting the front wheel off the ground. The initial pull of the front wheel should be from moving your hips back after dropping them low, not from pulling with your arms
Better than my attempt!
It looks like you’re pulling up on the bars, but you should be pulling back. A bunny hop starts as a manual, throwing your hips back to bring the front wheel up. Once the front is up you push forward and lift your pedals to rotate the bike forward and off the ground.
It’s all about weight distribution and changing your center of gravity, and not just brute force pulling. Eventually you’ll start by pushing your bike down into the ground to pre-load as the first step.
Lots of the bunny hop practice is learning how to push back on the pedals and point your toes down for grip. Shin pads are highly recommended for practice because you’ll be slipping and smashing your shins a lot.
All this is theoretical because I suck at bunny hops.
