  1. Anything you add will potentially cause injury in case of a crash, so be careful with any changes you make. My solution to the problem was to get a bike trailer (Thule Chariot) instead.

  3. A better, safe seat would do it. If the bike falls with him in it there’s nothing stopping his head in a helmet from hitting the ground. At least something like the Topeak Baby seat II has that head protection built in

  4. My friend’s dad, apparently, and I believe it because he’s that kind of guy, used to bungie strap her head to the bike seat.

    You can do that or not, up to you.

  5. I used to reach behind my saddle and put the child seat into full recline when they inevitably dozed off. If you have the straps set up properly their shoulders stay pretty flat to the back of the seat, so the reclined seat means they tended to keep their head under control.
