Took a week off early August from stressful work to ride the north coast of California from Humboldt County (Fortuna) to the SF Bay Area (Richmond). We wanted to have a more casual trip so no day was more than 50 miles (longest was 48) and a couple of very short days (shortest was 26 miles, but included a hefty climb), leaving plenty of time for off-bike activities, lots of stops, resting, and enjoying the coast. Avenue of the Giants was great! Light traffic, sunny weather, and favorable tailwinds made this a really nice and well-needed week+ of touring.
