Find an LBS that sells it off their 50m reel.

A Z6 (5-8 speed) is about $15 at my local bike shop. An X8 (8 speed) is about $24, X9 (9 speed) is about $33, and an X10 is about $42. All Canadian dollars.
“E bike” rated chains are about double.
