Me and Peter decided to conquer Norway’s legendary Mjølkevegen – a gravel road so beautiful it makes you forget your legs are screaming. From Gol to Vinstra, we pedaled through:

Day 1: 81.34km of “This isn’t so bad!” https://www.strava.com/activities/15389945411
Day 2: 80.56km of “Okay, my butt hurts” https://www.strava.com/activities/15401935924
Day 3: 70.11km of “I can see the finish line and also my soul leaving my body” https://www.strava.com/activities/15418017174

Highlights Include:

Sleeping in a shelter near Nørdre Syndin lake (million-star accommodation if you ignore the lack of stars)
Night 2 at Titrebue hut in Langsua National Park (where we discovered that “hut” is Norwegian for “have a candlelight dinner with wine while this tests your survival skills”)
Max speed of 67.4 km/h (probably downhill while screaming)
An average heart rate that suggests we were either exercising or having a mild panic attack
Weather that was 14°C but felt like we were cycling through a Norwegian winter commercial

The Real MVPs:

Our bikes (they survived with some tape and nylon cable ties)
Norwegian cows and sheep (excellent motivational speakers)
The GPS that somehow made 235km feel like 500km
Peter’s ability to still be speaking to me after second day

Fun Fact: We burned enough calories to justify eating an entire Norwegian bakery, but somehow still felt like we needed more food every 30 minutes.
This video contains: Spectacular scenery, questionable decision-making, gravel road therapy, and proof that friendship can survive anything (including me snoring in a mountain hut).

No cows were harmed in the making of this video. My dignity, however, took several hits.

The Stats That Matter:

🍺 Total Beers Burned: 54.8 (roughly equivalent to a small brewery)
🍕 Total Pizza Slices Burned: 26.9 (that’s like 3.5 whole pizzas, folks!)
🐄 Cows Encountered: Approximately 847 (they weren’t counted, but they were judging us)
💀 Times We Questioned Our Life Choices: Infinite
