I have a Grail CF SL 7 kind of new, rode 600km in total.
After a short (40km) and very soft ride (zone 2), the chain broke in front of my home.
At this point, I'm impressed how it could even have happened but I'm not even mad, I consider myself very lucky it happened in front of my building instead of at high speed on the road.

I snapped a few chains in 30 yrs but never like this.
Mostly from excessive wear, low maintenance etc.
Make a claim with Canyon or put in a good quality new one (20,- or so). No harm to you or the bike?
Consider yourself lucky indeed..
Ps see this isn’t any cheap chain chain (m8100) so make a claim for sure with Canyon.
Is this chain was on bike from manufacture?
My Shimano chain on new Canyon wasted in 1.2k km, on wax from the 0 km. I think maybe some fake chains was used on factory.
You absolute unit – 30000 watts in zone 2? Will they ever make you a chain for your immense power?
Only kidding hahaha, manufacturing faults no matter how small can lead to big failures. Shame it’s a shimano factory chain but I guess it has to happen somewhere.
