Day 19 of The Long Ride to Byzantium
BIELSKO-BIAŁA 🇵🇱 ➡️ POVAŽSKÁ BYSTRICA 🇸🇰 (124 km)

Finally into a new country after a month exploring incredible Poland! I’ll miss the place and its amazing people, but now it’s time for new adventures.

Slovakia made quite the entrance: breathtaking mountain landscapes, a wild border crossing, a stint on a crazy highway, and ending up in a super cozy camping spot with a burbling stream right next to my tent.

Fully motivated again — so much that I managed my longest ride so far: 124 km!

That was it tapes. Leaving beawa now and stayed over with my friend. It was fun meeting an old friend after 20 years or more. Such a lovely place. Unfortunately, I couldn’t stay more here in today 110k. Going through the mountains, climbing a bit. So, it’s going to be fun in the hot. The roots told me to go here. It’s more like a jungle, not a cycling path by the train tracks. What’s going on here, mate? Cycling route in Poland is sometimes just super nice cycling through the mountains, babes. It’s amazing. I’m all hyped up now. Heading to slow bike here and chilling there in brightest lava and see what’s going on there with the home boys and home girls. So yeah, amazing day. Super hot weather like the kumbia. I’m listening in my headphones. So hyped up. Look at that charge, baby. Found some water here, peeps. Look at that. Amazing. here in the middle of nowhere. But I’m not drinking this water because it was super salty. It’s like this hot spring. And here’s this text in Polish. And here it says, “Don’t drink it.” So yeah, just nice to wash off a bit with this hot spring water. Climbing a little bit. And I was getting pretty nervous about not coming into Slovakia because I saw this sign in Polish that said something obas which means detour and maybe that applied for me. So but this guy told me that it’s possible. So just continuing this climb before the border. Here it is the border. That was a horrible climb. And here it is, peeps. Slovakia. Oh my gosh, this is beautiful. Here it is, home, boys. After almost one month in Poland, finally. Super cool to be here. Wow, I’m going to miss Poland. Over there, Poland. And here, the amazing country of Slovakia. No idea what to expect. So, hope it’s going to be nice. Completely worth it. All this struggle across Poland and finally I’m I’m ecstatic peeps. Like to be honest, it’s super cool cycling like a madman. And then you’re here at the border into the unknown. I have no idea here in Slovakia what to expect, what challenges and people I will meet here and the landscapes and great cycling I suppose. So I see you in Slovakia and it’s super quiet and calm here. Really nice. I don’t know peeps. There’s something about borders that is just so fascinating. It’s just so touching. just these imaginary lines dividing countries and languages and cultures kind of necessary sometimes but now comes and peeps here. Yeah. So for me it’s that big effort of just getting through a country and then I’m in another one this leaving a place and coming into another and that’s only in our heads you know. Well, I think I got to go now. Downhill now. Let’s do this. Well, my first impression asia is that the roads are really nice. Just empty and super flat. Really nice downhill road. Super good shape. just can relax and chillax, you know, with these beautiful mountains and the beautiful country of Slovakia. Haven’t seen a single peep. Don’t know the peeps here are beautiful or not. Maybe not as much as the Polish peeps. Oh my god, peeps. Look at that cycling path with the car. I thought it was an amazing cycling path. until the car came. Another car over there. Some heaps. And another car. What’s the deal with Slovakia? Maybe it’s a car cycling path. Oh my gosh, peeps. Look at that. It’s super nice. This cycling path in Slovakia. Look at that mountain and this shadows. Oh my gosh, peeps. Think I’m gonna faint. So, I was cycling in this beautiful path and now I am in the E75 or something. Crazy. With all the big trucks, the conditions are not always perfect. Cycling is just like life. Okay, call me Crazy Peaks, but I’m on the highway now on the E75. And to be honest, I think it’s super fun just listening to some amazing tracks and cycling with all these big trucks. And to be honest, I just love it. The bigger the better these trucks. And the shoulder here is great. So, it’s really nice to cycle here. And besides this beautiful view river by the river, peeps, it’s crazy. This madness. Yeah, I’m insane. Left the highway now for good or for bad. Nice lake. But damn, for powering the great Slovakian people and its countries. This is super nice. Cycling along the VA. No idea about that river, but just cycling along it. Beautiful. Look at that, peeps. The bacon is not bad at all, peeps. No idea of the name of the town, but it seems it has like a big ass palace here and an amazing castle. Oh my gosh, look at that. Just here in the middle of nowhere in Slovakia. Please tell me the name of the town. Pretty beautiful after all. Slovakia. My biggest lodge. Look at that baby. Look at that sunset. Getting close to camp. Finally camping. Part of all the normal beds. Got to get some camping done also. Here’s the camp. Hope it’s nice. Let’s get into it. Here’s the spot just by the river. Amazing. Can’t see it, but you can hear it. [Music]
