London Edinburgh London (LEL) is Britain’s greatest long-distance cycling event, held every four years. The 2025 edition coincided with Storm Floris, which forced the organisers to cut short the route. (And renaming the event London Floris London…) This video shows my experience as well as highlighting the spirit of the riders, and celebrating the LEL volunteers and organisers.

London Edinburgh London 2025 will be forever remembered as London Florence London. The triumph and the spirit over the storm straight to the start and have a great way. But if I go back, I could turn away. I couldn’t let me. If I go back, I could turn away. I will turn back. I’m bound to relax. If I could see you again. I don’t know where to start. But the way that your eyes shatter mine, I will be defeated. But if I go back, I could turn away. But if I leave it, I couldn’t let me. If I go back, I could turn away. But I won’t turn back. I’m bound to relax. What a day. This is high drama in the Yorkshire worlds. Up to 40 mph winds, probably higher actually. And London, Edinburgh, London has been paused, will be paused for me and the rest of the riders on the road when they get to the next control. Absolutely the right decision. It’s dangerous. It’s no fun. And safety has to come first. Martin, what a wonderful sight. But if I leave, I could go back. Thank you. If I could see that I don’t know where to start. But the way that your eyes shatter mine, I will be defeated. But if I go back, I could turn away. But if I leave it, I couldn’t let me. If I go back, I could turn away. But I would turn back. I’m bound to relax. I don’t know where to start, but the way that you’re defeated. I could go back. I could turn away. But if I leave it, I couldn’t let me. If I go back, I could turn away that I would turn back. I’m bound to relax. If I could see you again, I don’t know where to start. But the way that your eyes shatter mine, I’ll be defeated. But if I go back, I could turn away. But if I leave it, I couldn’t let me. If I go back, I could turn away. Thank you very much. If I could see you again. I don’t know where to start. But the way that your eyes shatter mine, I will be defeated.

You’ve captured some good memories – I won’t forget the experience!
Great video! Looks like you left Boston for Louth 40 minutes before I arrived. (I stayed at Boston for the night.)
Wow, you encountered a lot of velomobiles en route!
That Thixendale road was so lovely to ride, at least in the downhill direction.
Well done, you captured that well!
I enjoyed your short but highly enjoyable capture of this event. Thank you for your effort.
I wonder if we could've braved the storm and completed the ride. Afterall, one rider managed to reach the turnaround and then ride back and many managed to get to Brampton and even Moffatt
Well done Rob! Great video 🙂 I was at the Hawick control. Next time I'd like to ride it.
Congratulations on a good ride and excellent video👍
Beautiful video mate. Congratulations on your ride from a volunteer at Brampton.
Well done! Great video. I understand somebody actually made it to Edinburgh before the "abandonment"/shortening
Great video 👍
