Devon C2C Okehampton to Plymouth Day2

The 2nd day was much better than the 1st. not because of the weather it was a lot more scenic, It’s definitely worth doing.

Part two, Devon Coast to Coast, Old Campton Station. The forecast did say it was going to be sunny today, which it looks like it is, but it also said it’s going to be windy. And I can feel the wind already. Oh, can you see the dam in the distance? The wall. I’m currently on the granite way. Is it or granite way? It’s just a nice gentle climb coming out of um Old Hampton. My knee’s giving me a bit of j my left knee, but hopefully that’ll ease as I carry on riding after the first day of all those hills. And because the sun’s out, also the mosses and flies are out. I remember I had some ibuprofen, so I just took a couple. So hopefully that’ll help. I don’t know if I said it before, but if I didn’t, I’m I’m going to say it again anyway. What a difference a day makes. Half past 8 in the morning. Just gone. The castle in. Oh, looks like it’s open as well. Presume that was the castle. Oh, 15%. Nearly there. Like I say, these uh hills, they look flat on the GoPro. It’s now settled down to 5%. It was 11% back there for a short while, but nearly at the top. Well, it’s nice up here, isn’t it? on a nice sunny warm day. Every village I’ve passed through has got one of these. Shut the gate. Just at the other side now. Peter Tavi in free house. He’s going to go to the L. Um, he’s got a cage that he sleeps in. are um uh he’s he stays in the house, he’s an indoor indoor ferret. So, cuz you get a lot of people who have them outdoors, but if they’re a pet to me, indoors. Yeah, if the pets they’re indoors. Yeah, exactly. That’s how I see it. So, definitely. Yeah. I mean, so far this second day so much better. I just got myself a quick meal deal. Sports ham and cheese, packet of cheese onion please, some pink lemonade and water in the water bottle. Just going to sit somewhere now and then find a bench. Smoked ham and cheese. Mhm. Pink lemonade. Oh god, it’s nice and cold. But right, finish this. catch in a bit. I’m not having a crisp yet. So, you come out of Tabistock, go come up a gradual climb, and then you get to this tunnel, which is lit. I’ll put my lights on anyway. So, dog then wasn’t happy with me. Even with the lights on, it’s still pretty dark in here. Oh, no. No, no, no. Coming up to a hill. I Just a steady climb at the minute. Got 295 ft left till I get to the top. 1.25 miles. I thought I’d have gone across the uh moss and seen all the horses, but it’s not. It’s taking me down this route, which I suppose it’s keeping me out of the sun cuz I’ve got no sun cream. The misses are going mad me not putting sun cream on. Bro, the closed Could be a long way back up, but I’m going to have to chance it. Can I get through? Can you get through? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Thank Well, they said yes. I never was All right. All right. Electric bike. Another bridge. Oh, I just had a a good at least four miles, I reckon. A gentle downhill on another bridge. Oh, that’s a long way down. And I’m not a fan of heights. Plymouth Colosseum, home of the Gladiators Speedway. This will interest the father-in-law. He’s well into Speedway Belleview Aces. That is programs£3 toilets. Heat. Heat. gate shut when the bridge is open to let the boats through. Then the bridge will come back. Look, Okay. Yeah. Welcome. That noise you just heard there must have told me I have just completed the Devon coast to coast. Just short of 100 miles in total. Welcome to Plymouth. A boat coming in there. Drake. Drake break. Don’t know if you can see that. It’s we can focus in it basic. Plymouth station. Next stop, Old Campton. Back at Old Campton station. So there we go. Sun’s in my eyes. Done. De coast to coast. bikes back on the back of the uh car. Um yeah, second day was much much better than the first day.
