Which of these 2 brakes will be best for my bike? I want to upgrade the 2-piston Shimano m396 that my bike has to a more current 4-piston one. Both brakes cost almost the same money, but in terms of power and durability, which one will be better?

I’ve had both. Id get the Shimano brakes.
I don’t know about the Tektros but I have the MT 420’s and they are amazing, from bike park laps to long alpine singletrack they work really really well. And you can really feel the difference between them and the MT 200’s ( those 4 pistons really do wonders )
Shimano. I just upgraded from the tektro. It’s a night and day difference.
