New to me 1987 Miyata 512 Competition bicycle (appears to be a 1987: https://www.ragandbone.ca/PDFs/Miyata%20Catalogue%20PDFs/Miyata%20Catalogue%2087.pdf). Purchased off Facebook Marketplace for $190 and it feels like a steal. I am new to cycling and I test I road a Trek 1000, Cannondale R500 CAAD4 & Trek 2.1 as well as this and I only know it felt the best out of all the options I tried! I plan to use it for short commutes and joy riding in Atlanta. I know this is just the start because the R500 CAAD4 stole my heart too, but didn’t shift as well and needed breaks.
I’ve tried to find as much information as possible but I’m eager to hear what anyone knows! See anything in the photos I need to worry about urgently?
I appreciate any tips! Also any suggestions for resources for getting into the hobby! Seriously all kinds: gear suggestions, riding tips, packing tips, emergency kits, maintenance, where to shop, etc!
