I’ve got an older Haro frame that I’m looking to use in a build, but I’m not 100% sure what headset and top cap I need. I’ll likely replace the frame at some point, but would just like to get up and running.
The head tube looks like it’s 1 3/8 inches (34mm) and the fork is 1 inch with a wider bolt hole (notice the bolt on the star nut from an integrated headset is too thin).
It did previously have cups in the head tube, but I knocked these out to measure the diameter properly.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance 👍🏼

It should be an 1-1/8” thread less headset
You need a 1 1/8 cupped style headset. They press into the steer tube.
1-1/8” semi integrated / threadless
1-1/8” aheadset press fit
You can go two different routes here. Keep it era correct and just buy a [regular threadless ahead headset](https://www.bananaindustries.co.uk/products/fsa-the-pig-1-1-8-inch-threadless-headset?srsltid=AfmBOoqmDukHd4Hx5vLQ440r3w_7wT1sgDA_J7-Jc9RWgORCW7vj59mA) like the one you have, or you can get a [mission conversion kit](https://www.tradeinn.com/bikeinn/en/mission-conversion-integrated-headset/140442727/p?utm_source=google_products&utm_medium=merchant&id_producte=141529544&country=uk&gclsrc=aw.ds&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22129366799&gbraid=0AAAAADvzHL_7ZVyKGu1KCsMTsFEtQw33O), same thing, cups you bash into the frame but they will take the same bearings a frame with integrated headset would.
throw those cups in the trash. buy an FSA pig headset, or if you’re ballin get the chris king headset. you’re compression bolt in the photos is obviously not going to fit, take your fork to the hardware store and see if you can find the proper bolt, more than likely metric threads, and get one that’s about an inch and a half in length with a thick washer that will clear the stem hole.
