sorry the description didn’t upload but I bought this brand new rocky altitude frame and a new seat clamp since it doesn’t come with one. the frame manufacturer says 34.9 clamp but this 34.9 clamp looks wrong. do I need to strip paint or something or just upsize clamps?

Does it use a 34.9 seatpost or does it ask for a 34.9 seatpost clamp? One is describing the i.d. and the other describes the o.d. of the seat tube. A bike with a 34.9 id and using a 34.9mm seatpost will use a seat clamp that is larger than 34.9mm. Measure the tubes o.d. and that is the size clamp you need.

  3. If the clamp is actually correct size it can be over spray on the seat tube. Sadly common issue with many brands, overspray on the brake mounts, bottom bracket, head tube. I’ve don’t know if Rocky Mountain has issues with this. But won’t surprise me.
