leicester Ecycles is a really exciting scheme here in Leicester um delivered by Leicester City Council it’s going to give the opportunity for our residents to hire a top of the range ecycle for free for 4 weeks scheme um aims to encourage people to take up cycling for regular trips and also to swap out short car journeys we know that 61% of car journeys in this country are 5 mi or less and that’s a distance that’s easily coverable on an ecycle so we’re going to have about 100 ecycle loans available every month for people um people who take part in the scheme who sign up for a travel diary highlighting the journeys they’ve made using the ecycles will also qualify for a discount voucher worth £300 off the cost of a new ecycle if people go forward to buy one um people to take part in the scheme will also qualify for a free um six-month membership of Cycling UK we’ve got a wide range of ecycles available for this scheme from folding bikes to step through bikes all of them designed to make your riding experience comfortable and enjoyable
