[$950 USD] 2016 Giant Advanced Defy Pro 2 – Is this still worth it?

Seller is asking $950 for this 2016 Giant Advanced Defy Pro 2. No visible/obvious cracks or deep scratches in the pics but obviously i will have to see in person.

This is an older groupset that is probably not as good as current modern 105/r7000+ but still better than a Tiagra. Max clearance is 28c which is also a downside for me considering the road condition i ride in.

Should I just save and stretch my budget to $2k for a modern alu 105 than to buy a 9 year old carbon ultegra?
