2015 Felt F5 Carbon (Stock wheel, not the ones shown, 105, rim brakes) $700
2014 Cannondale Supersix EVO Hi-mode (Dura-Ace) $1300
2018 Cannondale CAADX Tiagra $950

Total noob. Looking for my first road bike with the intention of competing in my first Triathlon (olympic distance) next year. Still a little new to the nuances regarding road "racing" (not competing, just want to finish mid-pack).

Which is the best deal?

  1. I would go with the felt.
2018 Cannondale is a no for me, it is too pricey, considering you can get a hydraulic disc brakes bike for the price NEW

I was confused at first, never seen a bike with disc and rim brakes before! CaadX is a cyclocross bike, tons of fun, made for dirt and very quick handling, not ideal for triathlons. Super6evo, is a very cool and lightweight bike, if you were doing hill climbs, it’s the bike you want but it’s not aero and more of a bike geek bike(one of my favorites). So that leaves the felt, 105 is a great groupset, has good tire clearance, put some aero bars on it and it will work for a triathlon. If you decide in the future you want to invest into a Tri-specific bike it will be a great training bike or you can resell it and not lose much money

I like 1 because of the colours but 2 would be me choice, can always get coloured tyres
