Looking at upgrading from 2014 commute bike to a proper road bike. Found a 2016 Merida Ride 400.
Is $300 fair for this spec/age? Are there better options out there I should look for?

$300 for 105 is very fair, yes. Love the bar tape. The main thing you need to get right on a road bike is sizing. If you can get comfortable on a bike you can have fun on it no matter what the spec level. If a bike is too big for you then there’s often not many adjustments you can make and you’ll just be miserable.
