Join me, Bikotic, as I unbox one of the most niche and purpose-built bikes you can buy – the Handsling TR2evoP, a high-performance track machine designed for the Individual Pursuit in the velodrome. Built for pure speed, this carbon track frame is offered by Handsling, a UK-based bike company, and is engineered to hit and hold incredible velocities with a massive front chainring, fixed gear, no brakes, and an aero-optimised design that rivals world-class time trial bikes.

We take a close look at the details, discuss the setup, and compare it to other top-tier track bikes – including the near £20k Canyon Speed Max CFR Track. Whether you’re a track cycling fanatic or just curious about what it takes to ride at over 60 km/h on the boards, this is one unboxing you don’t want to miss.

What we got here, Lumi? Oh, hello everybody. New video here from Bcotic. We’ve got an unboxing of quite a niche product, I think you could possibly say. So, let’s get it out and have a look. Oh, what is it? What is it? It’s a hand sling. So, just explain what it is cuz I don’t actually even know what it is. Pursuit bike. It’s a pursuit bike. Is that actually what they sell it as? Track bike for pursuit. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. What do they call it? The TR2 PS or something like that. That’s a really catchy name. Right. Okay. And Handling. I don’t actually know much about them. They’re in London, aren’t they? South Coast somewhere. South Coast. Okay. What did we pay for this frame? 23. 23. And it comes with bars. And it comes with bars. What bars have you been actually use? Custom watch probably in the end. Yeah. Why does it say Trevor on the top? Oh, that’s the name of it. That’s not Trevor. TR2 EV or TR2 EVO P. Wow. Catchy. And does it come in any other colors but black? I’m going in whatever call you want. Oh, come here. It’s like extra. Okay. And this one was ready to go and it’s literally taken like a day to get here, hasn’t it? Two days ago, didn’t it? Yeah. What else did we get for What did you say? Two two three. Two three. Like a base far. Now, for anybody who doesn’t know, you can literally only ride this bike at the track. Really? Yeah. So, obviously single speed dropouts like that. So, you can’t put any gears on it. They’re so narrow. I hope they fit in the USA rules. I think you should put them on your road bike. Yeah, at the front the track wheels the same hub width the front back in. Will it be narrower? Maybe they’re actually not too bad of them. No, quite heavy though, aren’t they? Wow. How much factor does weight play in the drone? It’s debated, isn’t it? Cuz obviously you’ve got to get it up to speed. Yeah. So, you don’t want it to be too heavy then. But feels the speed. You want the Yeah. So once it’s up to speed, it doesn’t really matter. Harder to slow down the heavy objects, isn’t it? Yes. Look at that. Cool fork to be fair. Wicked. Wow. Look at that. And of course, it doesn’t come with an axle, does it? Quick release. Quick release. Been a while since we’ve had one of them. Yeah, I was like, what the hell? Yeah, they’re cool. I like them. Yeah. So, was it reduced or was it? This is the actual price. Yeah. Yeah, right. It’s got to be air ramp. Got some bearings. Unspecified seat clamp. Well, there’s a lot of bolts there. What’s all them for? The risers. Wow. That can be real heavy. Yeah, cuz it’s a mono riser. Oh, is it? Where is it then? Show these stack them on there. Just like that. Right. So, that’s pretty cool. Stand. Is that going to get you high enough? That is the question. I can always make some. Right. Even Ricky can make them really. Yeah, they’re really easy to use. So, presumably those screws let you extend the reach there. They go like that. You literally only have the bottom on. Yeah. So, it’s free if we get both the same size. Yeah. do it. It sure two bolts will do, won’t they? What’s the worst that could happen in miles per hour? How fast do you go in the IP? Well, you have to do you have to be going like 36 mph, don’t you? 36 miles an hour, right? You want to be doing 60k an hour at least. 60k, right? Oh, no. I hate it when the wedge angle towards the seat pack. Yeah, they’re annoying. There she is. Yeah, they’re 130, aren’t they? Yeah. Skinny, aren’t they? Cuz they don’t need the gear ring. Oh, well, sorry guys. We’re not going to see it with wheels on today. Well, actually a few days later, we did actually manage to get hold of a wheel that fitted in the back. So, not exactly finished, but you get a much better idea of what the bike is going to look like. I think by the time the big whopping front chain rings on there, I think it’s going double disc wheels and obviously a saddle and all set up properly, I think it’s going to be a wicked looking bike. So, who are Hansling? Well, they’re a company based in the UK in Hampshire. I think they produce road track, gravel, cyclacross, triathlon, time trial bikes and components. There’s not many of their bikes in the Bcotic app because I’ve never been able to get particularly good photographs off their website. Looks like they might have updated it a bit recently. So, I can have another crack at those when I get a minute. But, this is obviously where you would buy the frame that we’ve been looking at. There it is. The handsling Trevor the TR2 Evo P. So that’s P for pursuit. I guess TR for track, Evo for evolution. So if you’re into track racing, I think these are a pretty good price really. Come and have a look. And I did actually load up the complete bike, which you can buy from Handling. If we go to the search bar, search for track, get the bikes. Not put a huge amount of track bikes into Bycotic cuz no one’s shown a huge amount of interest in them. Like I say, it’s quite a niche market. If you were to compare the hand sling, which is this one, to say the nearly 20,000 pound Canyon Speed Max CFR track, this is what you’ll get. Very focused bikes are track bikes. You’ve got the massive gear at the front, single speed, fixed at the back, no brakes. And to put this into perspective, the world record for the individual pursuit is from 2024. Jonathan Milan 3 minutes 59. So that means that from a standing start 4 km so I think that’s 16 laps of the track if it’s a 250 m track you would have to average 37.4 miles an hour to get this timeoo even getting up to that going downhill on your road bike you will find pretty hard. So yeah that’s pretty quick but don’t let that stop you. Give it a go. It’ be interesting to compare this to a road bike. Actually, if we have a look for handsling handling. Yeah. The only other one I’ve put in is this one. And this was the best photo I could find at the time. I put this in in 2023. This is the A1R zero Evo. So, this is a road aerobike from Hansling. Obviously, there’s a pretty massive difference between the road bike and the track bike. track bike being a lot more focused for going fast. There we go. If you’re interested in checking these bikes out, come and have a look at bicycotic.com where you can search from 1,175 bikes that I’ve lined up in the database. So, they can all be compared back to back. You just click on your first bike, your second bike, hit go. It will load them up into the app and you can fade back and forth. Best bet to use it on your desktop computer, but you can use it on your mobile. It’s just a sort of cut down version of this. But if you like this video, give it a thumbs up and let me know down below if there’s any bikes you’d like to see compared on the channel. Until next time.
