The British aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth traveled to New York last week to host the Atlantic Future Forum, a ‘defense, security, trade, and technology summit hosted by the UK government.’

Among the events was a demonstration of the Royal Navy’s flying jet pack suits, which were created by Gravity Industries.

  1. I’m pretty certain that this is just for propaganda purposes. These systems are too loud to covertly infil and have the operators need to go through significant de-kit before they can be combat ready. The use cases are far too limited for this to be sucking up defence budget.

  2. Remember in the 80's when everyone figured out those super expensive russian helicopters were super vulnerable to cheap RPG's…this is that but for humans

  3. Kalau jetnya senyap minim suara si ini bagus, tp kalau bising ya ketahuan, masa iya perlu pengalih perhatian dr suaranya yg bising, tp klo senyap akan jadi teknologi berguna sekali di militer

  4. This isn’t a RN project. This dude has been trying to convince military around the world to buy these. He has even tried to sell to individuals. The issues are the same as always. The things don’t hold enough fuel and thus the range is quite limited. It’s interesting. It’s impractical. Though I imagine he has sold a few that may have single use special ops potential. It’s just not something you will see anyplace other than air shows, movies, or on promotional YouTube videos until someone invents a Tony stark style power unit. If you are old enough like me you will remember the back pack version of this from the 1970s. It was never more than a side show item. Nothing has changed.
