So my new canyon spectral cf7 just dropped a pedal on the 3rd ride, it’s a pretty flat trail and it just fell off whilst pedalling.
My only idea is that perhaps the crank screw wasn’t installed but I don’t know for sure.
Anyway, I’m going to buy an aftermarket cap and refit the pedal but is there anything I can do in regards to canyon directly? Is this to do with them at all or is it mine to deal with now?

Send your explanation with some close up pictures of the crank to their customer service and they will most likely replace or fix everything for free
I would also advise waiting for them to propose a solution before taking action yourself if you want to be sure that they will cover it 100%
