Picked this up Sunday, my first fat bike ever, and I’m hooked. It’s the “budget” category, but man… what a blast. Came with an adjustable stem cranked up, wide bars, upgraded aluminum post + Bontrager saddle, and some awful pedals (we’ll fix that).

After running new proper length cables and housings, I gave it a proper 30-mile christening ride to the east gate at Fermilab in Batavia, IL – my go-to shakedown route for new bikes because it’s chill, safe, and scenic. Even with the 22" frame (I’m 6'2"), it feels surprisingly good thanks to the cockpit mods.

Ran 28psi in the big meats (sidewall says 30) and still floated over everything. I’ll experiment lower soon for more grip and cush. Re-cabled it so the taller bars/stem setup works smoothly… now it’s butter.

Pics at the Fermilab sign – this thing might have just earned permanent stable status.
