I’d been searching high and low for a bag I can carry my lock with without my 80 liter bag. Check out u/crosstownbags on Etsy. Saby was great at customizing this bag to fit my lock perfectly!
Only thing I will say about having a hip bag with a holster, it’s a bit wonky with the weight of a New York Fahgettaboudit. The belt is sturdy but can make your shorts sag if you don’t put it on correctly. Took me a few tries. This is post first voyage but I figured it out. It’s a shame and not a shocker I had to purchase this from Budapest and can’t find anything like this in the states. Even a local who makes great frame/handlebar bags ghosted me when I told him what I was looking for.
Extra perk: reflector strip and even some recycled tires used. Only cost me $96 all inclusive with the belt.
Love a good compact purpose built bag. I’m curious though, how does it feel with the lock right up on you? Padding seems small for such a chonker lock.
My solution was to buy shorts with the ulock band sewn in or sew my own or strap it to a rack.

I have the roadrunner hip bag pro. Idk if it fits the nyc lock though.

Hip pouch is essential gear. The most popular here is the bagaboo (from Budapest also). My favourite is the Zulu fixed. I’ve owned mine for 4 years and it’s m single favourite piece of gear I own. I use it daily on the job and for fun, I beat it up pretty bad but it’s still up great. Hand sown by a small collective in Ukraine. Highly adjustable. Doesn’t come with a belt so use your favourite. I use an evolution mini but it fits bigger u locks no problem.
