With speeds so low in places, it's extremely difficult not to speed. So many places that were previously 40 or 30 mph are now 20 mph. My line of sight at these locations is vast, but the limit is the limit. It does make me wonder if the limit was 5 mph then authorities could have a hefty revenue stream and bring the entire country to a stop. Madness.
Yeah its nothing to do with safety at all!!! If it was, you would implement speed cameras or review speed road limits. Honestly nothing but a money making exercise. If you want to help educate drivers, why then penalise them with the most horrid letters through the post and a half arsed attitude on the phone?

Round where I live, kids speed up and down on illegal e-bikes, speed up and down our residential street in their German cars with their flatulent pops and bangs. Doing balloons as they are driving around residential streets… Where are the police?… Sat on a country lane in a van to snap someone accidentally doing 55 in a 50.
There needs to be better signage approaching speed limit changes. I was on an unfamiliar dual carriageway last week, there was a sign telling me it narrows to a single carriageway – fine, let's start slowing to 60mph. Instead it suddenly changes from a 70mph to a 40mph road. Thankfully it was quiet but that's surely an accident hotspot with people suddenly having to slam their brakes on.
Leave speeders alone. Ticket distracted drivers and other dangerous habits.
There's a very large number of roads around where I live that never have speed limit signs between the start and end of the road. Which means if you pull out of a country lane onto the road you have no idea what the speed limit is.

My son got caught doing 69 in a 70……. Yeah I know what you're thinking how.
He was on the A30 in Cornwall which is a duel carriageway so 70mph but he was driving a vw caddy van and apparently you only allowed to do 60mph on a dual carriageway in a ight goods vehicle. He didn't know neither did I tbh hope someone else can not fall foul to this live and learn eh
Some speed signs are hidden by overgrown bushes and trees. Some hidden just around a bend. When in doubt drive 20mph and piss every other driver off

Forget speeding, mobile phones are far more dangerous. From the driving seat of my wagon I see it countless times a day. It’s endemic. High visibility motorway patrols would help there. Not more cameras.
