I bought a T-line just over a month ago and wanted to upgrade some parts to suit my taste and here are some do's and be careful(s) (I know people have posted about aftermarket parts here).
Certain parts are totally fine to change out if they're cosmetic.
-
Grips added wight but I like the aesthetic and feel of leather
-
Lighter brake levers work just as great and its probably due to years and years of them not changing much.
-
Wheels are lighter and I like the look but the threads stripped out easily and it's lucky I use skewers or else id be in trouble.
-
aftermarket detailer isn't a recommended thing to switch out. The springs are very weak which causes the chain to jump around. stock one is stiff and the chain is firm.
-
Carbon and titanium rear rack is a gem. Very sturdy, well made, and feels like it's part of the bike.
-
4 to 5 speed conversion was easy and cheap using the brommieplus kit with the stock shifter. It actually feels better/more responsive than the 4 speed set-up.
-
Be careful with titanium bolts as they strip easily.
-
After market pedals work fine and are easier to get off the quick release than stock. The only issue I have is that the quick release pedal mount that replaces the one that also is part of the front brake catches the brake wire when turned a certain direction so that needs to go back to the stock fastener that is flat.
Thats it, enjoy your day

Are those H&H levers? If so, I think they are my favourite. My Extralites are pretty but the feel of those H&H when braking is nicer.
