I just bought a new bike, a 2026 Kink Whip for myself and kiddo to share, until I get another bike.
While he wanted a purple bike, I couldn't find any with the same specs as the Kink ( we are of portly proportions ), within my budget.

I was looking at purple tires.
60 vs 100 lbs psi?
Any reason to choose one over the other?
I haven't ridden a bike since the 90's, and that was a Haro Group 1, Diamond Back Viper, and a GT Pro Performer, so I'm out of the loop on all the new stuff.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

  1. Hope-I-Die-Today on

As a rider who weighs 195lbs, my 100 psi tires (set to 90) ride smoother and faster than my 60psi tires (set to 55) on my other ride.

60PSI = Will provide more cushioning on the wrists when taking big impacts

100PSI = rolls faster, turns more responsive, but will be harsher on the wrists

If you don’t know which one you prefer, 100PSI tyres can do both, 60PSI can only do one. So I’d get the 100PSI and have a play around, those aren’t the only two options you can run!

  3. Edit : we will mostly be just cruising the parks until he gets comfortable on it, so nothing insane for now.
