Giant protein shake with whole milk over a whole grain wheat cereal. Or chick fil a. And a dozen pints

Most of my gravel rides start and end at a brewery. Sometimes I order the fish and chipsā¦. I always order a few beers.
Iām not super picky – after my last 40+ mile mtb ride it was hot dogs and chips at the camp ground. After the lumberjack 100 it was some McDonaldās cheese burgers. Whatever is present works.
Eat trash go fast is my current philosophy.

Looks good but that’s a pretty awful recovery meal. No carbs, lots of fat is not a good thing to eat post ride.

I just drink a lot of carbs. Sometimes with protein, BCAAs, electrolytes, and B Vitamins.
What you have looks healthy overall, but terrible for recovery. Carbs not only refill glycogen stores, there is also research that shows they get the recovery process started quicker.

A bowl of fajita-spice chicken and some rice. A non alcoholic beer. And perhaps some tortilla strips as a topping or some shredded cheese

Some pickle juice and chocolate milk to start if Iām feeling really shitty after. That usually revives me and makes me feel normal again. Then Iāll make a big smoothie with fruit, protein powder, yogurt, PB, milk, basically a meal replacement smoothie because itās packed with calories.

Usually I finish up around 10 am then have a pint of egg beaters and scramble it with vegetables and feta. And home fries

Fruit and protein smoothie immediately, then followed by a salad with red meat and cheese…ideally it’d be a Mediterranean meal – rice, various meats, hummus/baba, pita, salad….but that’s a little much after every ride and I can quickly make the salad at home.

I eat so much sugar during the ride if Iām going long distance that I love things like salty tortilla chips and a big burrito afterwards.
