Gravel ride with Komoot UK Creators Community weekend – in the Peak District, Komoot dropped a email to my Komoot account inviting me on an adventure on Gravel Bikes or Hiking in the Peak District, UK.

Superb weekend with @komoot in the stunning Peak District, thank you to everyone for putting this excellent event on! Fireside chats were intriguing and inspiring, some great conversations with some truly amazing people. The guides looked after us very well, the food was out of this world (thanks to Wild Cycles @wildcycles8497
) and to top it off I won a book! Cycling Through A Pandemic -which is jaw-dropping to read. Of course, the talk by Komoot ambassador Nic Hardy (Insta @adventurer.nic) was fascinating to hear about how she decided to sell up and go bagging Munros (as you do). I look forward to reading up on the book Peak Bagging Munros very soon. Overall though, this kind of event is much more than I expected, really brings people from all walks of life together, so I must thank Grace (Komoot Community Manager) for arranging and hosting this great event.

Of course I took the camera with me and this is part 1 of 2.

Today I’m out with commute. Well, actually this weekend we are. We got some gravel rides. Got a little commute event going on. They also are doing hiking as well, but uh I’m more interested in the gravel rides. Anyway, stick around and watch this. Woohoo. [Music] I’m with Grace community manager. Hi. Yes. So, I’m Grace. Um, and so this is we’ve been at the Kimu Creators Community Weekend uh in the Peak District. And so, this is for uh anyone that uses Kamu, hikers, cyclists, runners. And the idea is that we want to bring people together offline um as well as connecting people in the app so we can get together and have like nice experiences and we can teach people how to use the extra features and do workshops on Kimoot and also photography workshops. And we did some hikes and rides connecting people. Lots of nice food with wild cycles. And yeah, we just want people to uh see what Kimut is about, see the values, and that we’re all about uh community, connecting people, uh people having a fun time outdoors. Um as opposed to how fast and how far. We just yeah want people to enjoy being out in nature. Oh, good morning. Gravel. I have no idea what gravel route I’m going to be riding. And also I’m having trouble uploading my route to uh the juror. So this is going to be fun. Looks like the commute rides started. They got the walkers just there as well. For this lot are all going hiking. Have fun. First climb over. That was a killer, isn’t it? That first one. [Music] So far so good. Got the little lumps out the way. Did look down. It was more than 10% I think. Quite long. Enjoyable though. [Music] Hey baby. Yeah. [Music] [Music] Nice little 10% descent here. So, I’m going to sit on the back and just watch the slot if I can keep up. [Music] Now that is a pretty sight. You’re right. [Music] It’s a bit slippery on my little tiny tire, so I’m going to push. All right. I’m not in any rush. [Music] It’s quite slippery in this gravel, isn’t it? So far so good. It’s very slippery uh gravel on my little tiny tires. But uh I’m not alone. Everyone else has got the same problems as well by the looks of it. Beautiful. It is beautiful. You can’t get much better than that, can you? Heat. It’s been a few years, but back on the Monsur Trail now. So, uh, yeah, the commute lot took us here. Only one beasting, actually two beastings and a bee in my helmet, which was fun. Yeah, must admit though, this uh there’s a good mix of people with this commute lot. And unfortunately, the Mons trails living up to it reputation of being extremely busy as always. So, we arrived at Bakewell trying to find a coffee and Bakewell tart stop at the commute lot. I didn’t go for a bake. Well, what did you go for? Uh, I have no idea. I just pointed. Okay, so we left Baitwell. They’ve had the Bait Well tarts and also had a little coffee stop. Cheeky little ice cream for me as well. But now we’re back on the Monsur Trail. We’re going to get to the end of it, I think. And then there’s a hill. And then there’s another hill. And then that should take us roughly back to uh yeah, where we’re stopping tonight. Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. Yes, heat. They’re pretty ar day one done for the riding. We’re We’re done, guys. So try to explore it. This is still a cake. There you go. You heard it first. Yeah, it’s been a great ride. Anyway, thanks a lot for viewing. If you do like what you see, please do drop me a like, leave me a comment underneath, and of course, check out commute as well. Well worth it. And I’ll see you in the next video, which will be day do two. Byebye.
