People seem to have gotten wind that people like the old MTBs- then they check ebay- see hail mary prices and think they’re going to get that. This is $150 tops in my area (a big city) and most interest would be low-ballers.
I’ve been buying similar bikes in various conditions for $60-100 at flea markets all summer.

I just bought this one to and paid 60$CAD but ive seen some go for about 150$ cause people are starting to understand they are in demand.
