now drives for home. Vanderpool gritting his teeth now as the Pelaton swing around the corner. It’s just all in now for Matcha. Vanderpool out of the saddle come Barra victorious as that late attack there is that Fred Wright looking to go down the right hand side of the road. But this may play into the hands now of Vanderpool. Yeah, this is it. Straight towards the finish now. It’s EF Education. Easy boss is Alanzi is trying to do something at the front now with the group Hama on the fronts but everybody’s sitting and waiting and um Matthew Vanderpole still hanging on. 1 km to go 5 seconds. Not going to be enough today but what an effort. What an effort indeed. Alanazy off the front. Everyone is looking around as Milan is having to surf the wheels to get himself into position. Pavle Bitner is there. A catch is made. Alanazy is the rider that goes past Matcha Vanderpool. But a warrior challenge there for Vanderpool as now Tim Malia trying to get himself into the right position. Van Ppple on the wheel. The Dutch champion Milan in the green jersey. Malia, but it’s now Danny Van Ppple that takes it up on the front. Akaman poised and ready as they go down through the center of the road as Jonathan Milan launches his sprint for the line. Milan and Malia. Milan through the center as Milan got it. Malia trying to challenge on the line. Oh, Tim Malia takes it in the throat of the line. Dele came up late. It was between Milan and Malia. And it looks like Malia has taken it. Yeah, Malia got that one just in the in the throw. Jubilation in the car. What a finish that was. Good to see Arnold Dele up there. He looked as if he got third place. Jonathan Milan beaten today. He won yesterday, but that man there just finishing there. Absolutely sped. This is a win by Tim Merier. But this is the day of Matthew Vanderpole. Oh, that is a day we are going to remember in the tour to France for many years to come. What a day. On paper, flat, fairly straightforward day. Turns out to be anything but that. Tim Malia celebrating. European champion gets to his bus. But what a day. What a finish. And Jonathan Milan and Tim Malia Deli. Great finish as well from uh was it Dee that came through on the line as well. But what a sprint. Yeah, it was u take us through it Brian. Well, it was all over the Danny Van Pa you know Akim Jake Stewart in the left hand side but um just watching Bitner was there an elbow there from Melier but nothing on towards down the barrier comes Milan but Merlier he was always just in front. Um but Arno Dele look he was coming there a good fourth place for bitner there but um yeah bangs the bars delay but you have to say that it was all about the top two today merly against um Milan side by side the whole way but um he did come close to lead that was one that um I wasn’t really expecting you know he he hasn’t done anything in the race and we said that during the race that um all it needs is one performance you know I mean doing nothing in the sprints up until now. This isn’t the third bunch finish. You have to be in it to win it. And Delay was in it to win it, but unfortunately two better sprinters there. But this is the man of the day. This is what we’ll talk about in this stage. Um I wish he’d have pulled it off but caught within sight of the finish within 1 kilometer. Well done that man. And that is what makes him the rider that he is, isn’t it? When he goes and tries to pull off something epic. Our stage result Tim Malia takes it for a suit quick step from Jonathan Milan on no delay with bitner penuets. Goodbye Bow House Mayos Fredheim and Groves our top 10. [Music] The day though belongs to the European champion from Sud Quickstep. Hats off to Tim Malia. Great sprint. What a sprint. and Bad Lairburgger as well battled back just had that another turn. He did a big turn on the front as well, his his teammates to try and um set things up for him. But chaos and mayhem all the way in towards the finish. And that’s what we were saying as well in the way that all the the team the way that that Pelaton was just being shredded by the crosswinds and the work that they were having to do to bring back Ryart and Vanderpool. Then it makes it They have it. The celebrations in the team come and I’m sure they had a camera in there as well. But uh that’s a that is a great result and a great sprint. Elan and Merier, the two big favorites in this tour to France. just going uh toe to toe, power to power, pounding it out there. Big heavyweight champion of the world sprint that one. Milan not happy. that he’s got it. Let’s go and hear from the hero of the day, Matthew Vanderpool. What a day out he had. You like to write stories, don’t you? Tell us what this story was all about. Yeah, I uh discussed with with Yunas that uh we wanted to go for it today is uh his dream is to be on the tour to France podium. So I was uh happy to help him to try and get the combat. So I hope they give it to him. I think that is confirmed he’s got that. So he’s going to be on the podium then. I’m really happy. That was one of his dreams. So, and in the end, well, we came really close, but yeah, I think we were both just on the limit. It was a very hard day. Um, yeah, the roads were not really uh really helping with two riders in front and then of course with the wind, we knew uh the GC teams would come back. Um so at certain points but at certain moments but yeah I think uh oh yeah it’s uh it’s uh hard to not not be able to finish it off but I think uh yeah we put up a good show today. It was a very very good show. Was the plan just for the points uh competition first or just for the breakaway? No no I’m like I said I’m not going for the green jersey. So it was really uh for the for the breakaway and we knew that there was also a possibility of a first echelon maybe bridgeing to us but yeah we uh we suffered but also enjoyed today I think. Thank you. Mature. Mature.
