Apologies this is another one of those ‘which of these are you buying’ posts. I'm mainly a mountain biker, but I live in the city (Edinburgh) and am frustrated I only get out to ride once a week, sometimes only once a fortnight (parent life!). I want a city ride for the local skatepark and pump track. I was gonna get a DJ, but I grew up skating and miss hanging out at the skatepark working out tricks and progressing. I know little about BMXs other than what I've learned about geometry to help me pick an ‘all rounder’ that fits my height (179cm) and the fact that I'm more of a beginner, but with some credentials.
I've boiled it down to 5 mid range full cromo, cassette hub bikes that I think fit the bill, I can get for all similar prices, and frankly I like the colours of. But I really want to know what if there's anything in the specs of these bikes that makes those in the BMX know what's actually what.

Stranger Royale 2022 (£645, love the raw look, includes guards, 48 spline)
Colony Endeavour 2021 (£605, 3 hub guards, 48 spline)
Fly Proton (£589, includes hubs and 2 pegs)
Sunday Ex Eric Elstran Signature (£585, my mate favours this cos the Odyssey parts)
I'm probably leaning toward the WTP and the Stranger, which are both heavily discounted. Feel like I can't go wrong with any of these, but I have decision paralysis. Would love to hear your thoughts.
And is BMX like the MTB world right now? Did prices skyrocket and supply become non-existent? Lots of the websites I went on had so little stock. I'd buy from LBS but no-one round here stocks BMX.

Sorry didn’t read the whole post. I had a Dan Banks Trigger frame in 21. Galactic Helix coaster. It was a legit piece. I’m on a Fit /Odyssey
I’m really surprised that an S&M or Fit aren’t on your list. Look around and see what you can find. Also, look into their products/riders/youtube etc. I think if you find an S&M with a 21” or so tt(Im in the USA-we use feet and inches) you might find yourself unstuck.
Also, if you’re looking for a street bike, look for something with a short chainstay i.e. < 13”…hope that helps

I got a Crysis a month or so ago. Colour is wicked, though a bit darker in real life compared to the promo shots. I’m a novice, but I’m loving it so far.
I would always go with a sunday; but that’s just personally because I’m a big fan of them!
No problem, hope you get one and enjoy it. I just got into bmx recently. Wasn’t really into biking, any kind of biking, in the past. I had a bike similar to a bmx when I was a kid but it was probably a department store bike. I’m having fun with it. I built an S&M CCR recently and I’m trying to get out on some dirt trails. I’m 45 years old and a single parent so I have to be careful not to get too injured to be able to go to work come Monday. You’re going to have a blast. It’s like fight club, just like fight club, cause you’re constantly getting beat up-by yourself.

The Crysis is totally fine. All the parts are as good as the Sunday, so go for it. I’d get the 21″ top tube for sure. The Odyssey parts aren’t going to hold up any better than what comes on the Crysis, so don’t worry about it.
Wtp or Sunday, fly will take months to arrive, colony isn’t overall spec wise as good as the first 2
