Got myself a basically brand new Flybikes Proton for €150 secondhand. Threw on the tubolitos and barends I had laying around. Swapped the metal pegs for plastic sleeve ones. Bought pedals, grips and Maxxis grifters for €70… that’s a lightweight, full crmo, fully sealed setup for just €220 ($255).
Only unfortunate thing is the original owner swapped the cranks for 8-spline pinchbolt KHE cranks…
I’ll probably give the original Trebol pegs and hubguards to some kid at the park and sell the original Fly Fuego tyres for a tenner.
