Out. Out. [Applause] My angel wings. I told the devil. the devil. I [Music] Hey, hey, hey. was also the driver and the uh the assistant on it was they were both all of them thrown off in Kernik. They are there. the only team that have two riders in the breakaway as well and team OH is making the most of that opportunity by picking up points here and there as well in the both the mountains and the intermediate sprint points and who else have we got that I haven’t mentioned Kellan O’Brien the Aussie for Jacob Alula and the Polish national team rider is Matz Gal Galdovich the rider whose name I’m still just getting my head around the cerski rider um who is their rider of choice. I did wonder at one point today as we watch this breakaway forming whether the red and white jersey wouldn’t get in here. It would be the first day where we don’t have a Polish team rider in there, but we have. There he is tucked down and descending right in the middle of this group um which is still being led by the two riders in red, Ruben Thompson and Anthony Perez on this long descent now that’s going to take them down to um the bottom of the valley. And of course what will now be the start of the step up to the Valimska pass for the second time as well. We’ve just pick up my bellow view. We have pretty much eaten our way around. Well, we have we’ve gone one full lap and we’re now sort of a third of the way around the second lap as well as we ride our way towards the Valima Pass which climbs down to the southern edge. They’ll go past the turn to the nasty climb they’ve got to do on the final time and then we will get uh yeah that final loop which has the extension to the bottom to take them up the sets pass and the kind of 30k which is going to be probably the most influential on this stage. This lot or at least um Decathon Aid Alamia will be hoping things have come to back together a little bit more by then or at least the breakaway is whittleled right down in numbers and in advantage but we’ll see. Looking at the front end now though, this is maybe it is just holding position on the descent. But if Decathlon were to knock it back a little bit here, Matt, which I’m sure they won’t, they’ve got three trains around them in Bahrain Victorious lead. And interestingly enough, Jacob Alula who have a man up the road of course. Yeah, we we’re moving, I guess, now into the, if you want to kind of break the race down into into phases, we’re moving into the next phase of the race now where we’re seeing teams become a little bit more nervous. They’ve just gone over that climb and they’re on this descent now, this big road that we see that takes us down towards the town at the bottom of the Sinska Pass that we saw. So there we have now a little bit of pressure for position. We saw that climb the first time and to be honest I think some of the teams were maybe a little bit surprised when they saw that that pass on the first passage. It was actually narrower than I expected certainly from looking at the map. Um it’s got cobbles on there. So they’ve all seen it one time and they think okay now we need to actually make sure our leaders are in position and they’re not taking over from the Azure deserve. They’re allowing them still to to pace and and set the tempo, but there is a little bit more organization there at the front that you can see. Yep, definitely. And uh thankfully, it’s been pretty smooth today’s stage in terms of uh issues. Not that I’m tempting anything and I don’t have that control, but uh much better than yesterday and the day before. We had a few nervous early moments. Weather’s been really good today as well. So, no excuse on that. We’ve got some really fast descents down here. Thankfully, very clear delineation where that white line is between that and the kind of what looks like cobbled inside. That’s a nicely BMED corner as well. I suspect that was quite fun to rip through the looks of it. Um while we get through this valley road uh and make our way in the direction of the the next intermediate sprint point for those 3 two and one bonus seconds. Matt, a couple of things came through that I thought would be really interesting to discuss particularly focused on this race. Um Daniel uh DD DD Daniel Daniel 88 to give him his full handle on X got in touch to ask us who’s the best sprinter that can climb in this race and who’s the best climber that can sprint. So I’ll give you a second to think about that while we go back. I’ll just go back and look at yesterday’s result because in a way yesterday’s result I guess Matt might point to that. I mean he could just say well actually on this race the best climber who can sprint and sprinter who can climb is Paul Laera based on yesterday looking at that um I can I chuck one in to begin with and then see who you think of I would have said looking at the start list now looking at I mean looking at last year’s results um looking at last year’s start list I certainly would have said at the time TBO Nace TB Nace meets that absolutely down to the ground and sure enough last year he won what did he win three stages as well for that very reason. A guy who can climb really well and has a lethal uphill sprint. He doesn’t necessarily refer to this though. He says, “Who’s the best sprinter who can climb? Who’s the best climber that can sprint?” That might not be the same thing as who’s the best person at sprinting uphill after a climb. There might be two slightly different things, but I’ll chuck in Matteas Vatk. It’s a really obvious one. He really is a brilliant allrounder and he’s quick as well as we know. to well just a couple of weeks ago last week in fact picking up a stage win there on a flat sprint after hilly terrain as well but do you want to answer that one Matt? Yeah, I think two different kinds of rider. Yeah, exactly. I think kind of when we look at it as a a sprinter who can climb and be there in the finish then and and we think about the real guys that are really there in the punch sprints then I think um guy we talked about a lot on the coverage so far this tour Poland Matthew Brennan climbs well. Um you see yesterday okay he finished in 50th position but he was only 1 minute 17 behind on an uphill finish. So there he’s not losing that much time. And another guy who maybe don’t see so often, but he is there and he does contest a bunch of sprints is Max Caner. When he’s really going for a stage he can also climb it really good. the
