At one of the most beautiful spots in the Corrèze (the green heart of France), in a Natura 2000 area, with magnificent views over the Dordogne valley and Lac de Hautefage, you will find this cozy, authentic Gîte. Here, you will experience the true old France; authenticity, silence, beautiful vistas, nature, tranquility, and no light/air pollution. The Gîte is snug and equipped with all the comforts. The layout is as follows: ground floor with the kitchen, wood oven, kitchen block with built-in appliances, bathroom, and a door leading to the terrace. Upstairs, you reach the living level with a beautiful light laminate floor and modern furnishings; there’s a fireplace, dining table, and a lovely lounge sofa, from this room, you have a wonderful view. A staircase leads to the upper floor with 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed and another with a sofa bed, both with stunning views. On the terrace at the back, you have complete privacy, shade, and you can sit comfortably. You sit beneath the grapevines and you have a breathtaking view over the valley and the lake. The ‘Vallée de la Dordogne’ stretches across the departments of Corrèze and Dordogne. The beautiful, green, hilly surroundings offer various opportunities for sports activities such as hiking, swimming (750 meters in the lake), mountain biking, cycling, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, rafting, and climbing. For lovers of culture, architecture, and art, there are numerous medieval castles, museums, and charming old towns in this region. One of those lovely places is Argentat sur Dordogne, just 10 minutes by car from the Gîte. Other nearby beautiful places include the picturesque Collonges-la-Rouge, the medieval towns of Salers, Sarlat, Beaulieu sur Dordogne, and of course Rocamadour. The ruins of Tours de Merle (12th Century!) are located 15 minutes away. There are also several stunning caves nearby, including Padirac. For beautiful views and challenging hikes…Can you drive to Puy Mary (1783 meters) and/or the ski area Le Lioran (1850 meters) in 1.5 hours? A very nice city with a beautiful old center with lovely shops and various nice restaurants is Brive, which is 60 km away.
