Previous owner took a grinder to the frame. I get the look they were going for but jeez wish they'd used a finer grit. Im loathe to paint it as i think it would take a LOT of primer/filler coats to get it smooth enough to not show the grinder marks….

I like the bare aluminum look – and could sand it further for a satin finish. but one concern is the frame strength – they ground some of the welds pretty flat so i really don't want to remove even more material.

Whaddaya think? How would you finish this? its a trek and a comfort bike so its probably built plenty strong as it had no need to be a super lightweight bike.

I want to build a comfortable cruiser to add to my stable for my own personal use. I like the frame as its pretty unique – i havent seen other cruisers with an upswept top tube like this, and its not very common/rare almost, and predates them buying the Electra brand.

Some thoughts I had:
– Bare alu & brown tires, grips, pedals, saddle – could look cool and classy.
– Paint jobs: Trek logo in green with Ganja Bob Marley theme & multi color paint job in a similar style that trek does some of their blended multi color frames from factory.
