Wondering if someone could help.me out here. I was riding, turned too much and accidentally fell on my side really hard. Bent the rim all out of shape. I called my local bike ship and they said they can re true it for 30-40$. Is it possible to re true or is it beyond repair? If so can someone direct me as to where to find a new rear rim for a good price? My bike is a 700c ozark trail gravel bike.

Bent. Go to your local shop and they’ll order you a new wheel. Unfortunately, it is the rear wheel so it’s going to cost more, plus labor.
A bent rim can sometimes be re-true’d, but it always depends on how badly damaged it is. The bike shop won’t know this from just talking on the phone. I think it’s still worth a shot to bring it in and let them give it an in-person assessment. If the rim hasn’t been kinked and the tire bead hooks aren’t deformed then there might be a chance here.
