[Music] Good morning. [Music] This is going down. Doors closing. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. N. [Music] morning. Uh so today I’ve just come over to the whirl to do the whirl way anticlockwise. So it’s a called the whirl circular trail and it’s about 38 mile route. So I’ve got the train in as you can see in the earlier shots and uh yeah that’s the final cafe stop somewhere or even a plank stop and go from there. Uh weather’s been a bit rainy this morning, but it’s drying out now. So, uh yeah, we should be able to uh have a good ride out, I think. So, I’ll catch up with you in a bit. [Music] [Music] Yeah. So, if you can hear me over the uh the sounds of the wind. Yeah. Just um just inquire as to how much it would cost just to get the Mercy Ferry over. And the only option they do on a weekend is something called a river explorer cruise. That’s 13 pounds.£13 to go a mile in that direction. So being honest, I’ll stick with me on six quid day saver from Rail. Thanks very much. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Heat. [Music] Thank you. [Music] Sorry. The power of the ebike. Heat. Heat. [Music] Thank you. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Yeah, that’s as close as I’m getting to the lighthouse. else. Ideally don’t want to be riding this bike through salt water if I can help it. So yeah, just stick to the uh compacted sand and follow my tracks back. [Music] [Music] This is Fort Perch rock, [Music] New Brighton. [Music] So, you want to head into uh the wind. So, I’ll take a quick spin round to get a good view of the rock. [Music] those windmills. [Music] An interesting ride. [Music] [Music] Oh. Oh. Oh. [Music] Oh, [Music] heat. Hey. Hey. [Music] set and cancel if you’re watching. I think this [Music] [Music] [Applause] So, yeah, just coming into high lane now. I’ve had about 10 miles of solid headwind and uh yeah, it’s not easy going on this bike at all. It’s literally your riding position. I make a sail just straight to the wind. Wind about 25 mph average. There’s a uh front end of a storm coming in with a summer storm. It’s called uh storm florian I think. So yeah, not surprising. It’s a little bit difficult today. But flip side could get a tailwind in a little bit. So swing around. [Music] Cool. Was that the uh boy scene? This is called the John Russell. [Music] [Music] Heat. Hey. Hey. Hey. [Music] [Music] So that’s Hillilbury Island over there. So I’m going to see if I can try and get myself out there. It looks pretty far away. And the nice people there just told me that they have ridden their bikes out there before and there’s no one going to tell me off. So, someone told me you can’t ride a bike on there. Also, there’s a lot of people out there. I can see dots. So, let’s go uh give it a try. [Music] This probably wasn’t the best way to come. Wonder if I can plot a path through that. Nice and easy here. Spin through. [Music] Taking gentle care not to get salt water on the bike. I can see the path up there. [Music] That’s [Music] [Music] going to get towed off, man. [Music] [Music] I don’t think [Music] [Music] [Music] Oh, siy. [Music] Yep. I get off and push. I think you’ll see the RNI about to [Music] [Music] Oh, the heck is [Music] [Applause] [Music] Resize a lot. [Music] [Music] I don’t Okay. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Sorry mate. Thank you. 8 miles. [Music] Come on. [Music] So, So some sort of little uh sandstone fort there. So the west cavio just come from these out there somewhere. Some sort of presentation and another lighthouse. So we got full lighouses today. All right. So, what I’m going to do, I think I’m going to go around that way and uh I think I’ll try and get off the islands if I can. Yeah, judging by a few of the locks that I got. I don’t think uh bikes are welcome here. Doesn’t say officially, but just one of those things. But the views that you get, there’s North Wales in the background. See? Right, let’s get going cuz I’m starving. Onwards. Pure experience that was though. [Music] Heat. Heat. All right. Thank you. All right, let’s plot our way back on the rocks of doom. I don’t get stuck in the mud. They can help me. So, I’ll follow where those are going. Heat. Heat. [Music] Oh, thank you. Yeah. [Music] It’s [Applause] Not riding up. Maybe right this bit. Nice. Are you tired? [Music] [Music] This is the way the RNI comes. So, if it’s good enough for them, it’s good enough for me. I just see West Curb in the distance. [Music] There we go. [Music] So, if you got a gravel bike and you’re wondering what these big tires are for, what I’ve just done Um, I have not traded this bike for anything. Now, they’re just incredible things. Such a good invention. I’m going to uh head out down this way now. I can see people walking. Compacted bit of sand. These car tracks as well. And that’s it. Hill Island done. [Music] And even a mountain. So I’m just now on the railway which is a uh disused railway line bit like the Cheshure lines path if you’ve ever been on that in uh the Liverpool area or Liverpool loop line. Yeah, it’s very very similar to that surface is uh nice compacted gravel. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] as standing. Thank you. [Music] Thank you. [Music] Unfortunate guys, to cut the ride shorter than I expected. Um, yeah, got to get home. So, it is what it is. Well, I’m going to finish the rest of this uh trail down to Hooton and then I’ll get the uh the train from Hooton back to for me. So, still a bit to watch out. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] Try it. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Yeah, I just reached the end of the world away there at Hooton. So, going to jump on the train with me here and then just get over quickly. Um, I didn’t realize what time it was and I said I’d be back for a specific time. So, yeah, never made that mistake. So, yeah, just going to ride up to uh Hootton station and get on the train. [Music]

  1. Oh look more paths not cleared 🤬 I didn't know the island was that big, typical walkers, gobs on them 🤣 and the Mersey Ferries only interested in the tourists on a weekend, its ridiculous us locals can't get a cheaper return ticket like you can get through the week on a commuter ticket.

  2. Thanks for watching Mick! The beach paths were clear on the Wirral Way, rideable and accessible to many because it appears Wirral BC maintain them. I was trying to show the comparison between that and Crosby I rode on last week.

  3. You can use an all day saver for the ferry too John even at weekends as we do that every year on our annual Hilbre island ride🚵‍♂️🤙🏼
