Day Three of our epic weekend ride kicks off with a cracking breakfast in Bushmills, then it’s back on the bikes for another full day in the saddle. We headed out early and made our way north to catch the Magilligan–Greencastle Ferry, crossing from Northern Ireland into the Republic of Ireland — a first for me, and a brilliant experience on the bike.
From there, we cruised down the Donegal coast, stopping off at the Silver Tassie Hotel for a well-earned coffee break. After that, it was time to head back into Northern Ireland via Londonderry (Derry), then up the coast again past familiar sights, eventually rolling into Larne to catch the evening ferry back to Cairnryan.
The return leg was lively — plenty of bikes at the port, a bit of chaos boarding (yes, I still can’t work the straps properly), followed by some tasty chicken pie and mash on the ferry. Once docked, it was a hectic ride through busy traffic until a fuel stop in Newton Stewart gave things time to settle. Finally, we made it home to Annan just after 8:30pm.
🛵 499 miles in total over the weekend
🚢 2 ferries
🧭 Countless coastlines
🎙️ Still testing out voiceover — I appreciate it might be better than no voice but I’m still not sure!
