I'm 41 and a father to 3.5 y/o twins – while I've had the opportunity quite a few times I finally got off my lazy ass and hopped on my bike, took it for a spin around the neighborhood for 30 min. It's from the first year (I think) of the Cinelli Mash Frames:

https://www.pedalroom.com/bike/2015-cinelli-mash-work-raw-33491

And the steel is absolutely real. I've owned some alu frames, I have an All-City (RIP) Thunderdome frame just collecting dust; but this Mash frame is just great geo for me and the steel makes for a great ride

Curious if anyone:
* has purchased from mashsf.com lately
* has ridden the non-Cinelli work frames, steel or otherwise – thoughts?
* knows if the shop is still around?

I lived in SF from 2009-2021 – the pandemic hit and I think a lil bit into it there were rumors the owner was trying to sell, and maybe would be just ran as an online shop. Anyway google or yelp doesn't mention the biz has closed but I honestly have been out of the game for a bit, not even sure what to trust on yelp.

Anyway, reminiscing, been a long time since I bombed some hills but not very many in my part of San Diego. Also I'm a dad now lol

MASH’s storefront is still around and their window decor is still up but seems like they’re not open to the public like before. Sometimes I’ll see the front doors always seem ajar but most of the time they look closed.

Also, I used to ride one of their steel track frames and liked the versatility but ultimately sold it to fund something more “special”

I have 2 of these but the second version with the Smokey paint. I’m actually trading one for the exact frame you have, just so I can have both versions. Also in San Diego! Love the frame man, it’s so comfortable and rides amazing
I buy a lot of stuff from mash, they’re still active and great quality. Waiting on a front rack, and a couple weeks back I got pedals with the mks double straps

  3. Mike and the shop are still around. The shop itself isn’t open to the public anymore and is instead open one or two days a week for curbside or if you want to stop by and say hi. The website is still up and does get new items every now and then and even had a revamp recently.

  4. I’ve ordered bits from mashsf.. looking @ ur stem though – cadence! Ha I’m not sure if they’re still in biz at all??

They’re open for online sales and local pick ups usually Monday or Tuesday-Wednesday or Thursday. Mikes a rad dude, I live here in sf and have been supporting him since 06’. I had that same frame, which died instead of me, back in 18’ RIP,and yes it ripped!! I still have my black chrome, a slumworm, a 90’s Serotta steel/carbon fork roadie, and just built up a 90’s Guerciotti track frame- mostly period specific. Keep shreddin!
