this is our five night itinerary for the Basque region of northern Spain and southwestern France If you haven’t come across my channel before then hi I’m Emma I talk a lot about travel whether that’s trips that I’m doing myself or places that I would like to go bucket list destinations that sort of thing Both me and my husband work full-time so we’re always trying to maximize our 25 days annual leave as best as we can And for this specific trip we’re going over the Easter bank holiday weekend So even though we’re going away for five nights we actually only have to take two days of annual leave And I don’t think there is a more satisfying feeling than that And because the Easter holidays can be such an expensive time for travel I made sure to book these flights ages ago and I’ll go over how much the price has changed since I booked it for the flights As far as the itinerary is concerned we’re flying into Bil Bao We got these flights for £40 each and I had a look earlier and they are now £233 each So if you ever need a sign as to why you should book your trips in advance I think this is it You can occasionally get really good last minute flights but I think for something like Easter bank holiday it’s just not worth risking it So we’re going to spend two nights in Bilba and then we’re heading off to San Sebastian This is about an hour and 10 minute drive and I booked a coach there So that was £750 each Then we spend just one night in San Sebastian and I’m going to be making it my absolute mission to try as many of the Pinchos bars as we possibly can I’ve made a whole list of the ones I want to try that I’ve looked at on Google So hopefully we get through a fair few of them I did also want to do a hike in San Sebastian as well because it has some beautiful walks but realistically I’m not sure how much time we’re going to have but we’ll hope Then from San Sebastian we’re getting another coach to Beerit in France This was £8 pound50 each and honestly I cannot believe how cheap coach travel is in Europe It’s so so good Then we spend two nights in Beerit and again I’m just so excited for the food there I’ve again found some really nice hikes to do One thing I forgot to mention is that we only are taking hand luggage because the flights were so cheap but it adds so much once you add a bag and I just think I’m quite used to packing light at this point I have bought myself a new Rhina approved massive backpack that I’m going to be trying out for the first time So I think I can fit quite a bit in there because I definitely want to take my hiking stuff and maybe even my running stuff but maybe I’m being a bit ambitious with what we can do in that time And then our flight home from Beer Eats is back to London And this cost £75 each And I had a look and this one hasn’t gone up quite as much as the other one but it’s now £171 So still and that’s each So quite a saving really from booking in advance I won’t go over all of our hotels because obviously where you stay is up to you You can do it as cheap or as expensive as you like Really we kind of tend to go mid-range because being 30 now I don’t really want to stay somewhere really bad I like staying somewhere nice but at the same time I don’t want to spend hundreds and hundreds or crazy amounts on a hotel that I’m barely going to be in So we try and find like a middle ground somewhere that’s clean good location Anyway I hope that was helpful If you’re also thinking of doing a kind of Basque country road trip
