How long are you planing for?
I’ll only comment on the area I’m familiar with:
Not sure if Frankfurt is worth it. Mainz and Wiesbaden have a much nicer vibe and you are less likely to lose the bike to a thief.
Northwest of Frankfurt are a lot of nice small towns: esp Idstein,Bad Camberg and Limburg (yes, there is one in Germany too).
If you go past Limburg you might want to ride along the Lahn River cycle path. It is beautiful.
You’re so close to the Vennbahn – should defs check it out. And relatively easy to free camp in most of those places. Check out the RaVEL network in Belgium!
