Good morning and welcome to day 21 of bike packing the perimeter of Britain fundraising for Movember. Please, please, please drop a donation. The link is in my bio. It would be massively appreciated. So today’s plan, Cardigan St. David’s Swansea. It’s a just over 200 km, about 3,000 m of elevation. The plan is basically following the coast. It’s a headwind to St. David’s and as you can see very overcast and a bit wet this morning and hopefully from St. Davids it should be more of a tailwind which will hopefully push me towards Swansea. Hopefully it just isn’t any worse than this cuz you can’t see a flipping thing. So day 21 was a bit of a monster. It was riding from Cardigan to St. David’s 10B and then cutting inland a little bit and going to Swansea. It was about 200 km and over 3,000 m of elevation. The day started very overcast and a bit wet. And then I was joined by Gareth who stayed with me for I think like 150 o in the end which was really cool. We went into David’s took me to a pasti shop. Had a lovely pasti. Met this very very lovely dog. looked a bit like my dog. Probably why I liked him. It was a headwind at Davids and the hope was that it would therefore be a tailwind to push all the way towards Swansea and it was at points but not really that great. That’s a Movember paraglider which is pretty cool. Uh the route was a mix of cycle lanes, really busy a roads. Uh this is going through TMBI which is an absolutely beautiful little town that I’d like to go back and visit. Definitely want to mention that before. There’s a tunnel which kind of rolls through here which actually cuts out a climb. And Gareth basically showed me these little shortcuts which missed out one absolute monster of a climb. So that was awesome. He was saying that it was been closed for quite a while because of landslides, but this is the bit you end up onto which is amazing. Then ended up riding down the side of an A- road which isn’t great. Um, I was pretty kicked at this point, but I found a Coca-Cola named after one of my mates, Mia, and she’s never seen one, so that was quite cool. But yeah, ended up on that A- road for a little bit, which was about a kilometer and a half. Not particularly fun, but could have been worse. And then just these draggy climbs. There’s so many of them. Just really did eat away at my soul. Um, then there’s a descent on this lovely cycle lane, which was much needed. But yeah, by this point, which is probably about 25k to go, I was pretty cooked. Uh, riding into Swansea, crossed over some lovely big esties like this and also saw a dinosaur. There’s actually several dinosaurs here, which is kind of cool. But yeah, totally spent by the end of the day. If you can, please take a moment to donate to Movember [Music]
